My past blogs failed because I was starting blogs based on what was popular and what everybody else was doing. I gave up with three blogs because I wasn’t passionate about any of the content I was creating. Truth be told I really did not take blogging seriously until I started this blog in 2017. I knew that if I wanted to become successful with a blog I needed to have passion and a plan. So I took my time and invested in the right education and blogging tools.
When it comes to starting a blog that makes money I highly recommend that you get yourself a self-hosted WordPress blog. I did a tutorial on how to start a successful blog so make sure to check it out to get a step-by-step outline on how to setup a self hosted WordPress blog.

Get Cash Back on Purchases
Before we start I need to mention one places online where you can get cash back on your regular online purchases.
Ebates: Get a percentage of your money back when you shop online for clothing, house & home, makeup, skin care, web hosting , domain names etc. You can get cash back on online shopping destinations such as: Sephora, Lululemon, Udemy, SiteGround, Nike, Priceline etc. Sometimes you can get up to 40% cash back just by shopping at your favorite online store! I did an ebates review blog post so you can take a look if you need more information on how this program works.
Make sure that you download eBates if you want to get a percentage back on most of the things you buy online! It even comes with a web browser extension that you can add on to both Firefox and Chrome.
Starting a Blog
Siteground: I use Siteground for my hosting so many people promote Bluehost but I tried them and I moved to Siteground a few months ago. My website speed and traffic has improved and I really like how fast and helpful their customer service is. Compared to Bluehost, I have not had any issues with my web hosting and website uptime1` and I highly recommend SiteGround if you are a new or seasoned blogger!
WordPress Themes: I would highly recommend the following WordPress theme companies if you are looking for a high quality theme for your WordPress blog.
StudioPress : If you are looking for SEO-friendly, well optimized and beautiful premium WordPress themes, StudioPress is definitely the place to go.

To Increase Blog traffic & Income
Tailwind: It can take ALOT of time to manually Pin to Pinterest each and every single day. To get more eyes on my blog posts I use Tailwind to schedule my posts and I am able to schedule hundreds of posts in 15-30 minutes as opposed to the hours upon hours I would use up if I manually pinned every post. I still Pin manually from time to time, but Tailwind does most of the work for me since I work a regular job and have other tasks I’d rather focus on when it comes to my blog.
Social Warfare: Getting your content shared across popular platforms like Pinterest, Facebook etc. can get more eyes on your blog. I really like Social Warfare because it’s a light weight plugin that works really well for social shares and it will not slow down my website. I get more shares to my content and I can say that Social Warfare has helped me to grow my blog traffic.
Keysearch: To get longtail keywords and lasting traffic I am using KeySearch Pro to get better SEO for my blog and to rank my articles on search engines like Google. It’s very affordable and easy to use so if you are on a budget but you also want a quality SEO and keyword research software, KeySearch is definitely one worth considering.
KW Finder: I also use KW Finder from time to time to find longtail keywords. It’s a bit more expensive than KeySearch but it also goes into more detail and gives you more data to work with. If you are on a budget you can do like I do and compile a list of keywords that you want to use in your future blog posts. Just pay for one month for the premium option, do your keyword research, then cancel the plan. You can pay for other months later on as needed but make sure that you brainstorm hundreds of keywords first!
Yoast SEO: Yoast SEO is a must have free SEO plugin (all you need is the free option) that helps you to better organize your blog posts so that you have a better chance at ranking in search engines.
Pinterest Ninja: When I started this blog I knew that Pinterest can be a great source for blog traffic but I did not know how exactly so I educated myself! I took Pinterest Ninja so that I could learn more about Pinterest and how I could use it as the powerful search engine that it is. Pinterest Ninja is such a high quality course (speaking from someone who has bought a very expensive Pinterest course that did not deliver anything new).
I learned alot about how to get blog traffic from Pinterest and unlike the pricey course I took before, this course taught me the actual step-by-step methods on how to go about getting more traffic from Pinterest and how to grow my email list using this search engine. Pinterest Ninja is an affordable course at $70 and it works because I am already seeing more traffic to my blog since I implemented the methods I learned in the course! You also get free lifetime updates if any changes to the course are made!
I want you to succeed in your online blogging venture and go the distance in what you can achieve. Remember it’s up to you to put in the work if you want to make it online. Treat your blog like a business if you want to succeed. If you treat it like a hobby, it will pay like a hobby (I am speaking from experience here). That being said, I hope that you will find the above blogging resources will help you in your journey and my wish is that you will be able to increase your blog traffic and your income.
