Imagine this, you walk across a beautiful empty lot. The location is perfect complete with a beautiful sky-blue lake nearby. Gorgeous trees frame the outside of the lot.
The scenery is something off a magazine. You stand there…Looking on. Imagine building a beautiful home on the lot in front of you. You have always wanted a home with wrap around porch. Your dream home would have large windows with lots of sunlight coming in. This empty lot is what you’ve been looking for! You realize that you want to buy it and build your house.
At the end of the day, you go back home to think about it. Days go by. The money is there but still you still need to think things through. Weeks pass by as you take the time you think you need to think everything through.
In a few weeks, you learn that someone else has bought the lot. Construction is set to start in a couple of weeks. Regret immediately hits you. If you could only turn back time. If you could go back to the very first day that you saw the lot…
You start to think to yourself:
I did not need that much time to think about it.
I should have bought it right away.
It’s too late now because you waited too long. Someone else saw the potential and did not hesitate to take the lot off the market.
Years pass by, and you drive past the lot. On the lot sits a beautiful house. The house has a wrap around porch, large windows and there are people sitting on the porch drinking some tea. Devastation washes over you on an intense level. In your heart, you know this could have been you. Sadly, it is not.

Where am I going with this story? I’ve been thinking alot lately about living an authentic life (big words huh). Success is all about living the life that you really want to live.
You have to really want to live your dream life. Or be really sick and tired of the way things are going right now in your life. Whatever works for you! Be willing to work towards your dream life. Work hard for what you want and do not quit. I’m just learning this myself as I go through life and look at things from a different perspective. It’s important that you realize this before it’s too late.
You don’t want to be that 60+ years old person with a list full of ‘what ifs’.
Sitting around watching other people go after their dreams is not a good plan. Waiting and hoping that one day it will be your turn is a sure way to fail by default. As most of us know, ‘one day’ is not something that sticks. Do I have regrets? Heck yes! It does not makes no sense to dwell on the past. I can only move forward and give it my all.
2016 was a very eye opening year for me. My way of life was something that I became fed up with (finally). I realized that I wanted more. I was freelancing for a bit however, I quit freelance writing because it’s not something I enjoyed doing. Working on creative and fulfilling work is what I have always wanted to do with my time. Along with that, I realized that I want to help other people. I want to inspire you to be fearless and go after your dreams. It gets frustrating to know that you are the only person that is holding yourself back. Most of us hold ourselves back from the life that you really want. Our thoughts become things. If you tell yourself that you can’t do it, you won’t.
My fears and doubts have held me hostage for many years. Year after year I continued to doubt myself. Here I was, wanting to start my own business and lifestyle blog, yet I allowed fear to win. I saw other people doing what I wanted to do. Every year I still made excuses in my head that I needed to think things over.
The only difference between me and the people who get to live the lives they want is:
They go for it! People who live their dream life, usually go after what they want in life. Winners do not watch others win. They actively get involved in their own lives in order to make sure that they get the things they want. Plain and simple.
2017 and beyond…
Taking action is the best thing I’ve done this year. Not the half-cooked type of action of my past. For me to get where I want to be I needed to be consistent and focused. I want to do things better, build my dreams. Leave my regular job and do other fulfilling work. My goal is to make start making at least $10,000 (or more) per month with my business within the next year.I am just sick and tired of holding myself back. The wake up call of seeing others living the life that they built for themselves is what I needed. It is not going to be easy.
I can proudly say that I have now bought my empty lot and it’s time to start building.
