How to Make Money With a Blog For Beginners

When I first started blogging I always wondered how do bloggers make money? I always wanted to know how to make money with a blog for beginners (like I was at the time). If you are starting out as a blogger you more than likely are not looking to start a blog for the sake of starting one. You do not have to sell your soul in order to make it as a blogger (please don’t). If you are presently wondering how to start a successful blog it can sometimes motivate you when you get to see how well other bloggers are doing. When someone makes money with their blog it means that people are actually reading and engaging with their content!

Nothing feels better than working so hard on your site and having people care enough to stop by and see what you have to say. Even more of a compliment is when people actually trust you enough to buy the services and products that you recommend.

Even though you can make money blogging it goes without saying that no amount of money is worth you misleading your readers and betraying their trust. That being said, never recommend any product or service that you do not use or anything you know simply does not work. One thing about trust is, once it’s gone, it’s gone forever. You never want to be the type of blogger who sells out for a few dollars. Only recommend services and products that you have used, would use, and are familiar with.

How to start a successful money making blog ( a step-by-step guide )

How much money can you make blogging?

Starting a blog in this day & age

When I first started blogging (yes I failed miserably with my first few blogs) I used to think that the only way that bloggers made money was through ads. The first thing I did when I setup my first blog was put up a bunch of Google Ads and boy was my website hideous! A few people did click on the ads and I made my first $100 online that way but soon enough there was no traffic and I had to move on. I failed multiple times with multiple blogs and I alone was mostly to blame because my mind was all over the place and I was trying to run three blogs and take on too many things at once!

Focus is very important when it comes to blogging and I can not stress this enough. It’s alot of hard work and most times you will not see the result right away. If you are looking for a get-rich-quick scheme or to make some fast cash then starting a blog is definitely not the way to go and you are better off getting a job and working on your blog during your free time.

Now on with it, how do bloggers really make that cash money in this day and age?

How to make money with a blog for beginners:

You can make some money with ads and if you are just starting out I do not recommend that you put up any ads instead work on giving your readers valuable and useful content. With a new blog you can use ads from Google and once you have enough traffic you can look into partnering up with platforms such as Adthrive and Media Vine.

Sponsorships & Brand Deals

Bloggers and social influencers can make a lot of money from sponsorships and brand deals. The thing is to be picky about the kinds of sponsorships you accept as an influencer. Before you work with any companies make sure that you research them first! Do your research on their products/services and reputation before you agree to work with them.

Last but not least, Keep your sponsored posts to a minimum. You will lose your readers if every other blog post that you do is a sponsored one. People are not stupid and their BS detector starts to screech at the slightest sense that a blogger is doing things mostly for the money.

Affiliate Marketing

What is affiliate marketing? This is where you promote other people’s products or services and in turn receive a percentage of the sale (if someone clicks on your affiliate link/links and buys the product or service). Make sure that you are promoting products and services that you are familiar with or have used before.

Always mention the pros and cons and avoid promoting stuff just so that you can make a higher commission. Again, no dollar is worth you recommending a bad/faulty product to your readers and losing their trust and your integrity.

You can make money as a freelance anything: freelance graphic designer, writer, computer programmer, virtual assistant etc. I tried freelance writing and I quit because this way of making money just isn’t for me. But, do not allow my experience to discourage you because there are bloggers who make a very¬† very good side income from freelance writing.

Selling Products

If you want to make some money then selling your own product/products is where it’s at. This includes physical products, ebooks, other digital products and online courses. The key to doing this is to start early by building a community through your blog. Create an email list that you can use to connect with your readers. Offer your readers something of value that will better their lives and the money will come.

Bloggers who happen to have a proven qualification and other expertise can make decent cash through consulting. This includes financial planners, reikhi masters, bloggers who are experts in SEO & traffic, dieticians, yoga teachers etc. You name it, if you are good at what you do, you can sell your expertise to other bloggers, companies or individuals. You can monetize your expertise if you are really good at getting results and somewhat of an expert at what you do. Simply think outside the box and go for it!
