The Best Vegan Protein – No Bloating or Upset Stomach

Whey protein is not an option for me (at all). I do not drink cow’s milk so using a supplement that has dairy/animal protein is completely out of the question. Back when I used to drink milk on the regular, I noticed that my body was at my worst. I used to suffer from constant breakouts (my skin was a hot mess). Drinking cow’s milk also caused me to gain weight and losing weight was a big challenge. Drinking dairy regularly left me always bloated and breaking out.

It’s been 6 years without milk and to my surprise it is not something I miss at all! Looking for the best protein is something I have struggled with for a while. Most of the vegan protein supplements that I have tried have not impressed me at all. At least until now…

Finding the Genuine Health Fermented Vegan Protein has been ahhhhmaaazing! This is the only protein that I have tried that has not upset my stomach or caused other negative side effects such as bloating, constipation, gas etc. (aha you know I have to let you know). Mixing protein powder with water and taking it straight is just not me (no ma’am). I prefer to add my protein to smoothies.

I literally loooove this protein! I always take it together with the North Coast Natural L-Glutamine (unflavored). L-Glutamine has many health benefits (more on that later on).

Benefits of Genuine Health Fermented Vegan Protein (my opinion )

Mixes very easily (I only make smoothies with mine)

No bloating

No gas

No upset stomach

No acne/ breakouts

Cons of the Protein

It’s a little pricey at $40 CAD+ tax

Chalky aftertaste (but it’s minimal compared to the other protein powder’s I have tried)

Why should you take an L-Glutamine supplement?

L-Glutamine has so many health benefits. I take it for two reasons:

  • It helps with muscle repair and to maintain muscle mass
  • It helps with digestion and preventing upset stomach and bloating.

Taking L-Glutamine can be great for stomach health and muscle repair. People with leaky gut have found that it helps with the symptoms.  I add it to my smoothies and it doesn’t change the consistency or flavor.

(See how the powder is pure white? That’s some high quality powder dahhhling)

Not all L-Glutamine powder is the same.

Some of the L-Glutamine out there has shellfish (which can have traces of toxic heavy metals). Most of the L-Glutamine  you can find online or at the store is made from wheat. Wheat is hard to digest and any powder made from wheat will have a low amount of  L-Glutamine (who likes to be ripped off? Not me).

How can you tell premium quality L-Glutamine from the cheap stuff? Premium quality powder should be pure white without any other coloring. Avoid any yellowish or brown L-Glutamine powder. These powders have harmful fillers and are low quality.

I don’t believe in saving money to buy cheaper products that will at best give me mediocre to no results. -Especially if its something that is going into my body, I want it to be the best quality there is.

Did you know:

L-Glutamine is a known youth and immunity booster?! Studies have shown that taking 2 grams of this powder daily can raise your growth hormone levels by 400%. This particular supplement is said to speed up your body’s rate of tissue repair.

I take 1 teaspoon a day in my smoothies. The North Coast Natural L-Glutamine comes with a small scoop to help you sort how much you need.

A couple of months ago, I was looking for a collagen supplement to take (mainly for my hair, skin and nails). Sadly most of the collagen supplements contain animal products (dairy). Studies have shown 2 grams of L-Glutamine daily increased growth hormone levels by over 400%.

Since I started adding L-Glutamine to my smoothies, I noticed that my hair has grown quite a bit. Sadly the hair on my legs is also growing back faster and I am shaving more often.

You might want to add L-Glutamine powder as a supplement if you:

* Exercise regularly and usually at high-intensity
* Get sick with colds and flus often
* Have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
* Have low muscle mass or have trouble holding onto muscle

The North Coast Natural L-Glutamine is:

100% Vegan

Made from fermented beets

100% pure pharmaceutical grade L-Glutamine (the only powder that is pure enough to be used in hospitals)

Non-GMO

Unflavored (tasteless)

No fillers, No sugar and No impurities

Benefits of L-Glutamine:

* Maintains a healthy intestinal tract.
* Helps your body to produce the antioxidant nutrient glutathione
* Repairs and maintains muscle mass.
* Improves the recovery time from exercise, injury and surgery.
* Helps to improve the immune system.
* Increases the ‘youth hormone’ by slowing down the aging process (guess I’ll wait to see in a few years if this is the case)
* Athletes say that it helps with endurance and energy

*Please note*

If you have bipolar disorder or epilepsy, please check with your doctor before you take any supplements. Anybody taking medication should check with a licensed physician before taking any supplements or vitamins!

Follow the directions on the packaging to know the right amounts of powder to take. You can get an upset stomach if you take too much L-Glutamine. Make sure that you follow the instructions on how much you should take.
